It is many years since I have seriously fished the Glutt Water but I have had much fun down through the years.

Although there are very few “named” pools there is some superb fly water all the way down from the Old Bridge at Dalnawillan to the river accessing Loch More.

It is the types of water that you need to explore to get the best out of it.

Some of the slower moving pools contain big trout and it is up to the angler to decide how best to get them out.

Challenging and great fun.

Again, type of flies will vary with the day and depth of water but the “traditional” beasties will never let you down.
