I have made much of the fact that virtually no trout have been taking as they are normally very, very greedy. This has changed. Pat Quinn ( Hector) tells me that he has taken upward of fifty trout this week. In midweek a sea-liced twelve pounder was taken from the tail of the Long Pool on the Private Beat and, this morning, Dokers"The Otter" MacKay had a twenty pounder from the Sauce Pool. I do not know the answer to the trout scenario but I am convinced that it was the same reason why the salmon were not taking !!
