I am a big fan of 1960s music but the best sound that I have heard for some time is that of the Thurso river gurgling it`s way past my house. It has been silent for almost four months, but the recent rain has brought her back to life and made an old man very, very happy. Initially, the rise in levels only dislodged a lot of weed, but now that it is starting to clean up, the fish have come on the take with both the Private Beat and Beat One producing good numbers. I am certain that we will see a lot of fish, who have been hanging around the Estuary for months, enter the river in the next few days.
