The big tides over last weekend brought a few fish in to the lower reaches of the river and Beat One has produced a few fish. Sadly, they have not got as far as the Private Beat. I was having a chat this morning with an angler who has visited the Thurso for fifty six years, and shall remain nameless ( it was Alex Parramore really) and he told me how much he had enjoyed the week. I questioned this a bit and he responded by saying " You occasionally need to have a poor week so that you can fully appreciate the good ones when the come along". I have always had great respect for this Gentleman and I can now add complete admiration.
