Very little can be said on the salmon fishing front with both the Private Beat and Beat One struggling. Encouragement can be taken from the build up of fish in the Estuary. Obviously, lack of rainfall is a major factor in our present dilemma. I truly believe that this is one symptom of a much bigger picture. Trout Lochs which are normally fishing their socks off are also having a terrible time. Lack of rainfall does not have the same effect on these Lochs so there has to be something else. Personally, I go back to that old Scottish Country Dance Band " Eddie and the Atmospherics"
