It was good to see a lovely fifteen pounder come off the Long Pool on the Private Beat early in the week. It seems to be the case that there are fewer fish around this Spring but much bigger fish. The weather hasn`t been very helpful with a lot of cold, blustery days. I have had much pleasure in the past three weeks watching "my" Oyster Catchers returning to nest straight across the river from my house for the seventh year in succession . I say that this is their seventh year but I can only assume that it is the original birds it may well be their offspring.
