Weekly Report 25/06/2023
The drought in our area continues along with high water temperatures. The Private beat has produced a couple of fish as has Beat One but these were early in the morning whilst the temperatures were almost reasonable.
I learned in midweek that nearly all of the local rivers were running a spate. I decided that I had to revert to some of my old tactics! I instructed my first wife Isobel to borrow a couple of buckets ( too skint to buy them) and make here way to these river and return with some water for the river. I suggested that, as I might need my truck to go to Thurso for ice cream, she would just need to walk. I did insist that she should not make more than ten trips in any one day. There were complaints of sore arms so I made a shoulder yoke for her which would leave her hands free and suggested that she might be able to carry one on her head also!
After the third day I decided to cut the number of trips down to five per day as she was often late getting home to make my dinner!!!
