Weekly Report 10/10/2021
This season will long be remembered for the very prolonged drought which extended from mid May until the end of September. Some people ventured the opinion that there were very few fish in the system, but this notion was soon put to bed with the arrival of the rain. There were fish everywhere! Today, I have seen well in excess of a couple of hundred fish accessing Loch More. I think that, come November, we will be seeing as many fish on the redds as we have been watching in the past several years. Maybe, these much talked about and sometimes reviled " canal stretches" on the Thurso will be recognized as a huge asset to the well being of this wonderful river!
