These bloody fish of ours continue to be extremely unhelpful.  Again for the lucky few there were periods when they were very helpful.

The rain which was forecast to arrive on Monday eventually presented itself on Friday afternoon and lifted the river by some 10 inches.  On the subject of weather, I have arrived at the conclusion that the weather forecasters, who appear on our screens daily, are in fact trainee politicians, as I have never heard so much rubbish talked in my life!  Finally, if I had to describe their usefulness I would suggest that it would be akin to a one legged man taking part in an arse kicking competition.
