Weekly Report 28/06/2020

The early part of the week gave us very strong winds which, by midweek, had been replaced with a stifling heat and this morning (Saturday it went almost completely dark and followed with the most earthshattering thunder that I have ever heard. I spoke last week about "atmospherics" and the effect that it seemed to have on the actions of salmon and I am certain that the aforementioned weather pattern has much to do with the lack of activity on the river. There must have been a little while when these conditions didn`t prevail as Pat Quinn had a beautiful sea liced twenty three pounder on the Private Beat----- then again, it might just have been the Luck of The Irish!! Pat was so pleased that this lovely hen fish swam away quite happily after a very short period of recuperation.
