Weekly Report 26/04/2020
Little good can be said about the present "lockdown" situation but the prolonged drought conditions would have been terrible for anglers driving many miles to get here. There are place on Beat One that I can walk across in my shoes.
The dry weather with the damp nights has caused the grass to shoot quite dramatically. It was decided that we should toss a coin to see who should undertake the task. The ninth flip of the coin came down in my favour so the privilege fell to Isobel. Looking out of the window, I could see after twenty minutes she was beginning to flag a little so I called her inside to make me a cup of tea.
When she had rested for a little while and decided to go back out I had her take the rubbish out to the bin so as not to waste the trip.
There has been much time for reflection in recent weeks and, I am sure that, with a fair wind, I will have her fully trained in the next couple of years !!
