We had the news in midweek that our salmon are having a difficult time. I remember in the early seventies when a lot of people were giving a lot of money to various organisations to investigate this situation. It seems that it was easier for them to kick river managers etc all over the shop because it was so much easier than investigating the problems at sea ! I remember some fifty years ago, discussing at great length, where the problems lay. Virtually nothing has been done !!! I now expect some incredibly stringent rules to be applied to salmon anglers who are the least to blame for this debacle. I am sure that the Scottish government, along with their pals in the green party will be wringing their hands in glee at the prospect. Some bad news for them. I saw a LOT of smolts making their way seaward in midweek. !
