Report:
Although things were a little dour in the early part of the week, a rise in river levels saw the fish come back on the take. Several people have remarked on the fact that the fish seem to have become territorial and aggressive much earlier than normal. Three anglers who have benefitted from the fish becoming crabbit ( almost wife -like) this early have been Gary Hendry and Malcolm Fisher who each had a twenty five pounder from beat four and John Wood who took a nineteen pounder from beat five.
A landmark was reached in the course of the week by fishing partners Alan Maskell and John Claydon. Alan took his hundredth Thurso salmon whilst Mr Claydon netted his fiftieth.
